Pathfinder Society Scenario #10-20: Countdown to Round Mountain

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 7–11.

As the Hao Jin Tapestry demiplane collapses at an increasing rate, the Pathfinder Society has decided that it must evacuate the surviving inhabitants using a powerful ritual that can return one of the demiplane's monumental sites back to the Material Plane. The only candidate large enough is Round Mountain, an immense, tunnel-ridden stone sphere pulled from the Darklands of Tian Xia centuries ago. However, in the generations since Round Mountain vanished from the Darklands, countless subterranean creatures moved into the vast cavern left behind. If the mountain returns—and it must return to save the demiplane’s refugees—it would crush all those who have moved into the cavern since.

The Society must move quickly. The PCs are one of several teams tasked with exploring the vast cavern, cataloging the doomed architecture, and above all coordinating the occupants' evacuation before the long ritual concludes.

The Age of Heroes has past, and the great tide of enlightenment and prosperity it brought with has sunk
below time’s horizon. This current age is a time Between; between light and darkness, ignorance and
wisdom, good and evil...life and death. The horrors of the old world that have lain sleeping in the dark
corners are waking up, and new shadows join the old in this twilight time.

All is far from lost, though. Many relics of the past stand strong, swirling with energies eldritch and
arcane, immune to the erosion of time. Tomb delvers and treasure hunters unearth ancient secrets, and
mystical scholars push the boundaries of knowledge and skill to shine a light across the world.
Technologies new and old are invigorated, and in some cases melded together, wielded alongside the
sword and shield.

While countless empires have fallen, many great cities still stand across the face of Ta Los. And while
creatures from black rifts and forgotten times rise, it is the heroes of this age that will meet them. With
steel and spell, the cry of battle and the thunder of guns, shall this new age be forged.

Valley of the Dragon pt.3: Secrets of the Past

The year is 1458 ABM and in Seamarch in the far western reaches of the Prescan Empire a young band of intrepid adventurers find the road to the bustling port city of Cerystishal blockaded for unknown reasons. Choosing to brave the majestic but dangerous Valley of the Dragons to circumnavigate the blockade, the intrepid band stumble across an ancient mine from a civilization long lost. Having finished their exploration of the Mine the lead they uncovered points to another ruin of this ancient civilization that holds promise of even greater reward, but within this ruin the party discovers a secret not meant to be lost to the mortal world. Why did the previous owner of this knowledge seek to destroy it, what unlooted treasure could be hidden in this forbidden place, or what untold danger?!?!

This is a Homebrew D&D 5e adventure designed for fifth and sixth level characters Pregenerated characters will be provided and dice may be borrowed. If you played part two on Saturday your characters will carry over as they were and if you played all three parts you will receive a token of appreciation for your dedication.
