RinCon 2019

Pedigree is a board game based on actual genetic biology and real-life decisions of animal breeding to produce show ring champions and top-dollar animals. Each player is a breeder trying to make the most money by raising the best animals and building reputation through winning trophies. Your ability to breed champion stock will be determined by your management and mating decisions, along with the luck of genetics. You pick the best animals based on their phenotype (appearance), but their phenotype is an imperfect predictor of their genotype (DNA). You won’t find out the true genetic potential of the animal (prove the animal) until they produce offspring; unless you use DNA testing in advance. Each generation you compete for the Trophy against other players in the Show Ring, and champions build your breeder reputation causing your animals to command higher prices.
For the Western themed RinCon, we will be breeding horses or cattle - players choice.

James Ernest is best known for light, quick games. This year he's working on something new, a hefty political control game called After the Fog. Players take charge of city governors who are reclaiming an ancient valley that was once choked with fog. Develop your holdings, improve your airships, and fight for control of the valley in this 90-minute strategy game that's still in the early stages of playtesting!

Game will take approximately 3 hours to teach and play.

In Mombasa, players acquire shares of chartered companies based in Mombasa, Cape Town, Saint-Louis, and Cairo and propagate trading posts of these companies throughout the African continent in order to earn the most money.

Mombasa features a unique, rotating-display hand-mechanism that drives game play. Each round players choose action cards from their hand, then reveal them simultaneously and carry out the actions. These cards are then placed in a discard pile, and the previously played cards recovered for the subsequent round.

Each company has a double-sided company track, so games will vary quite a lot based on which tracks are revealed and at which companies they are placed.
